Dazed for Victor & Rolf's Tulle Dresses

The front cover of the latest edition of Dazed & Confused features the model Magdalena Frachowiak in a dress from Victor & Rolf's Spring/Summer 2010. As I skimmed through the magazine yesterday, which also had an article about the Dutch duo and a shoot with more pieces from this collection, I fell in love with the collection all over again. What is there not to love? The pastel colours, the full skirts and sequince detailing all take me back to the 80s bringing back flashbacks of my Barbie dolls, the cartoon and toys of My Little Pony, the sparkly outfits the figure skating performers wore, cindrella's ball-gown and candy floss. Of course Victor & Rolf made sure it wasn't all girly they added edginess to the collection with strong asymmetrical cuts and by mutilating the tulle in the most unexpected ways. As usual Victor & Rolf had an interesting concept behind their collection: 'With the credit crunch and everybody cutting back, we decided to cut tulle ball gowns.' Now that is an original way of interpreting the credit crunch on fashion!  Below are some of my favourite Victor & Rolf looks of this season:
