Fashion Loves Film

First of all I must apologize for not posting in over two weeks, my excuse is that I have had no internet at home for most of this time.  I know this is not a good enough reason a dedicated blogger would have made their way to an internet cafe or even Starbucks.  I  on the other hand chose to be lazy and stay home reading books.  What can I say I enjoy a break from internet and staring at a screen for hours and hours.   Anyway I am back now to tell you I attended an event from Birds Eye View 2010 Film Festival at the ICA last night: Fashion Loves Film - Fashion and the Moving Image.

Fourteen fashion films were screened here and the night ended with a wonderfully insightful discussion on fashion films with five women who are involved in some way or another in this new form of video art. This included the art director of British Vogue Jaime Perlman and fashion filmmakers Wendy Bevan, Sarah Chatfield and Kathryn Ferguson. I really enjoyed eight of the fourteen films which I am not going to bore you by listing but I will post below one of these. It is by Sarah Chatfield for the designer Louise Gray.  Above is a still from Kathryn Ferguson's film featuring Lady Gaga for Dazed & Confused. Before ending this post I must share with you a key quote from the discussion last night: 'In fashion films anything goes!'
